I Love It When A Plan Comes Together
It’s Monday (sorry to remind you). You probably have your week all planned out. But did you pray about your plans? Have you committed them to the Lord?
Did you know that God wants you to share everything with Him, including all your plans. He we wants you to come to Him not only to share but for guidance. So, He can help you to create those plans.
At first glance our verse can sound like, God will give us whatever we want. Just make the plan, tell God and He’ll make sure it works out. But that’s not what it’s saying. We can’t plan to steal our neighbor’s car and expect God to help us do it.
What it is saying is that if we seek God in our plans and follow His direction, He will establish them. Jesus says something very similar in the Gospel of John:
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
If we are serving God and following His Will, He will accomplish His will. In other words, when God asks us to do something, He goes with us to bring it to completion. This isn’t about commanding God to do what we want, it’s about trusting God and His plans.
Help me to look to You for all that I do and plan. Help me to trust Your plans, knowing that You bring Your plans to completion as You did Your plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
