Work Group: Church Growth

I was born in the Chicago area and my family is Lutheran, so I have been in the Lutheran Church my entire life.  We moved to Florida (the Orlando area) when I was 12 years old, so other than keeping my allegiances to Chicago’s professional sports teams, I feel pretty darn Floridan now.  I studied Finance at the University of Florida in Gainesville and then moved to Tampa after graduation to work for a large insurance company. I added an MBA degree along the way (also from UF) but have continued to work in financial accounting for the same insurance company, approaching 20 years now.

My wife Liz and I joined Family of Christ shortly after the birth of our first daughter, Emma, in 2011. Our second daughter Hannah was born in 2014, and the girls have been in all the various CDC and church programs (VPK, daycare, aftercare, VBS, Kid’s Praise, etc…) over the years, but are newly attending FOC for Elementary School this year. Liz is a CPA and also began working for FOC part time this year.

Favorite Bible Passage: Joshua 1:9 – Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
