In last Sunday’s worship our second reading had one of the visions of Jesus in heaven. These are very common in the Book of Revelation and give us a little bit of a glimpse of heaven. One thing that is somewhat common today, are people who claim to have seen something magnificent when they have had a near death experience. Look at the video about a youth, Zack Clements, who had one of these in Texas a few years ago.
What do we make of these accounts?
Revelation wants us to have a sense of wonder and hope in what God will do in the future. Whenever I hear accounts like these I have that same feeling. Although my faith is built upon what I have not seen yet, I trust in all that God has promised will come about in the future. Revelation promises that we will see Jesus in glory.
