Yesterday we talked about Jesus knocking at the door in Revelation 3:20.  I am always surprised and blessed by the reading of the next few verses.

To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelation 3:21-22)

Have you ever sat on a throne?  I have seen a couple in museums but they were always roped off and strictly enforced to not sit on them.  So I have never sat on one.  But this verse says that one day Jesus will ask me to sit beside him on His throne.  This could be a figurative way of saying we will reign with Jesus in heaven, but I love the literal picture in my mind of sitting beside Jesus.  God’s love and grace are always bigger than we expect or in any way deserve.

In Christ’s Service,
