Continuing to read in the Psalms, the first verse here reminds me of the saying, God is good all the time.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever. Let Israel say, His love endures forever. Let the house of Aaron say, His love endures forever. Let those who fear the Lord say, His love endures forever.” (Psalm 118: 1-4)
The phrase “God is good,” is often given with the reply, “all the time.” In a similar way at Easter we say “Christ is Risen”, “He is risen indeed” as the reply. What is the difference between love and good? Love is the bigger term with more emotion but good is practical and every day. Being good reminds us that God is always looking out for our best interests. It does not mean we are free from hardship and problems, but that God is working in all that goes on in life for our benefit and growth as his children.
