2018 Middle School Mission Trip
Middle Schoolers are You Ready!!
This summer we will be having two mission trips. If you are in middle school, this is the trip for you. Get ready for 3 awesome days of service, Bible, and fun! It’s a great time and a great opportunity to grow in your faith while serving others in the love of Christ.
You can find all the information about the trip below. We have also attached the form that need to be signed. If you have any questions, please email me, Pastor Kurt, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at (813) 326-5255. And, yes, friends are welcome. So, invite them to come along.
Who: Youth entering 6th grade to those entering 9th grade. (Note: kids entering 9th grade can go on either the middle or high school trips or both)
Dates: July 9-11
Location: Tampa, FL
Includes: Travel (cars), lunch and dinner for each day, trip to the beach.
Bring Extra Money for: Meal on Wednesday night and while traveling, snacks, and souvenirs.
Deposit: $50 (deposit is refundable until June 30, after which it is non-refundable)
Deposit Due Date: Immediately upon sign up
Minimum Registration: Metropolitan Ministries requires at least 10 participants, including chaperones. So, we have to have at least 10 going or we will not be able to go on the trip.
Need to Know Date: June 10. Because we need at least 10 people for the trip, it would be helpful to know if we have enough people for the trip.
Final Due Date: June 24
Late Fee: There is a $15 late fee for turning in payments after the final deadline of June 24.
How to Register: In order to be officially registered/signed up, you must have both paid your deposit and turned in the signed waiver. Simply putting your name on a signup sheet will not register you.
Chaperones: We are required to have at least 1 adult chaperone per 6 kids, so we will need at least 2 chaperones for the trip, including me. While chaperones can, of course, volunteer for all three days, I am also open to chaperones helping for only 1 or 2 days as long as we have the minimum number of chaperones for each day.
Register today! Click the button below to download your registration packet. Please fill out and return it to Pastor Kurt or the church office.
What is this trip?
Each morning we will meet the church at 7:30am and will drive cars (mine and the chaperone’s) to Metropolitan Ministries (or whatever location they assign us). We will spend the day there doing whatever they assign us to do. It could be food prep/service, organizing the food/clothing warehouse, or cleaning up the Metropolitan Ministries campus. Metropolitan Ministries will provide lunch. At 5pm on Monday and Tuesday, we will head back to to the church where we will have dinner at the church. I’m going to be asking parents to volunteer to provide a meal for the us at the church on Monday and Tuesday nights. Parents are also welcome to come to meal. During dinner, we’ll talk about the day and have a little Bible study After dinner the kids will head home to sleep and return the next day. On Wednesday, we will work a half-day, have lunch at Metro and the go to the beach for the afternoon. We’ll stop at a for dinner on the way back. The dinner cost will be covered by a Thrivent Action Team card. Parents will pick up their kids on Wednesday evening at the church to end the mission trip.
Additional Info: Fundraising money has lowered the cost of the trip by about $20 per person. Additional fundraising money can be received by participating in the upcoming fundraisers.
